The heat aside, June was really good to me! I saw some dreams turn into a reality, enjoyed some great family time, and found myself some nostalgia-filled days.
We are about halfway through the year! I keep thinking about how fun it will be to look back on these recaps at the end of the year. Summer is quickly approaching and I’m actually excited about things heating up. I’m feeling ready for summertime! But first, a recap of May…
And just like that, we are already in the month of May! It’s been a second since I’ve done a monthly recap, so let’s catch up. We are full in the swing of spring and the seasonal allergies aside, here are the things I’ve been loving.
The shortest month of the year has quickly wrapped up! I love February. It’s filled with celebrations of all kinds: love, birthdays, and anniversaries! Here are some of my highlights from the month!
I absolutely adore Valentine’s Day! I love the silly cards, all the hearts, and — of course — the pink and red, so I thought it would be fun to host a little V-Day dinner to celebrate my friends and loved ones!
Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, so — naturally — I love to make the day as special as possible for whoever I’m spending it with, whether that’s Cooper, my best friends, or my family. But this year specifically, I want to do something in our city, and I thought you all might like a little inspiration if you’re in the Nashville area or ever plan to visit!
It’s the first month of a new year, and honestly, it’s been off to a pretty strong start! I’ve been getting back into the flow of creating again, as well as streaming and recording for the pod. I’m excited about what’s ahead, but first, I’ll share some highlights from this month!
It’s the start of a new year! But before we move ahead, it’s time for another recap. A roundup of my December favorites!
OK, I know starting anything can be intimidating, but if streaming is one of those things you’re hoping to do in 2024, this is your sign to go for it! Cooper and I really love it and have found a great community of people who really encourage us to be ourselves and do what we love. But if you’re not sure where to begin, this blog is for you.
It’s the start of a new series here on the blog where I’ll recap some highlights from each month!
When I was a kid, I always felt a little sad as the summer came to a close and the beginning of the school year started approaching. But one thing that would always make me excited for a new school year was back-to-school shopping!
Every now and then, I get in a crafty mood, and I want to find a simple DIY that will look elegant with a reasonable amount of time and effort. Sometimes I try something completely new; other times, like today, I bring back a classic and give it a seasonal twist!
I recently took a two-week trip to Europe with my family, and it was absolutely incredible. Seeing the sights, exploring with the people I love, and eating delicious food was truly amazing. But before I even get where I’m going, I’m a pretty diligent packer these days after doing a lot of traveling in my late teens and early 20s for tours and music events…
As trends come and go, I’m noticing that a lot of the pieces I loved in childhood and young adulthood are coming back! Trends tend to come and go, but I do think a lot of these pieces are timeless in one way or another. From bubble tops to jellies…here are some of my favorite trends that have returned!
I’ve started a podcast! The who/what/when/where/ and why of The Fuzzy Pod are all discussed in the first episode!
Spring is finally here, and while I’m certainly looking forward to going on my very own spring picnic with friends and family, there are a few other things I’m looking forward to as well…
The weather is warming up, which means more time outside to soak up the sunshine, and I’m already thinking of all the outdoor activities I want to do. One of those things is definitely picnics in the spring sunshine, which I mentioned in a recent blog post. But when I think about my ideal picnic, there are a few things I’ll need to really optimize the outing, so check out this list when planning your spring picnic!
I’ve lived in a few different states and cities over the years, but I have seriously come to love Nashville and the subtle charm of this city. There are of course a ton of things to do here, but since warm weather is all that’s on my mind lately, I keep thinking about what a close-to-perfect Nashville day might be like.
It’s a pretty gloomy day in Nashville as I write this post, but colorful wild flowers are starting to reveal themselves once again. It has me ready to jump into spring! With dreams of spring on my mind, I thought I’d share my top five for spring 2023.
Playing video games has been a part of my life since I was very young. I would plug in two controllers to our N64, boot up Mario Kart, and tell my younger sister to “pay attention to Yoshi, that’s who you are” knowing very well that it was a CPU player she was watching (oops. sorry to all the younger siblings this happened to). I guess you could say I took it seriously even at age 9.
I’ve never been the most tidy person. Even as a kid, it seemed to me that trait was innate in some people, including one of my close friends who at 8 years old would help me organize books and toys at sleepovers. And as an adult, those habits are still apparent, and her home is ready for guests at any moment (where I need a nice heads up before my home feels remotely acceptable to others eyes). I’ve read a lot of books and asked my tidiest friends their advice, and a lot of the same things seems to come up.
I’m sure you could guess this about me (if I haven’t already said it in previous posts), but I LOVE Valentine’s Day. I know it’s a Hallmark holiday, and I used to feel some level of pressure to make the day as romantic as possible. But these days, I like to celebrate in a more well-rounded way, prioritizing all the levels of love in my life. Whether that’s a romantic relationship, friendships you’ve fostered over the years, or family members that live near and far, Valentine’s Day can be a day to fit your unique relationships.
Over the years, I’ve taken on some pretty ambitious New Year’s Resolutions. There’s nothing wrong with that, but they can be tough to maintain. I do love the reset that a new year can bring, but as we move through the beginning of 2023, I’ve tried to be a little more intentional with setting realistic and practical ways for me to take care of myself on a daily basis.
Finding the perfect gift for someone is one of my favorite things to do. Gift giving truly is my love language. For some people, this time of year brings a lot of stress around finding a gift, especially one that feels true to the person you’re giving this gift to.
I love Nashville in the fall because that crisp, cool air blows into the city and the trees in the countryside look like they’re on fire with all the reds, yellows, and oranges that come out. It’s a beautiful season all around, and even though I’ve lived here for a few years now, I’m always trying to explore new places.
Without even realizing, my makeup routine tends to shift every couple of years. I’ll look back on photos of when I preferred a heavy dark liner on my water line or times when I wore bright purple lipstick. There were even times when I drew my eyebrows in nice and dark and other times where I didn’t even know brow products existed.
A lot of my favorite memories growing up revolved around food: the aroma of my mom’s homemade chocolate chip cookies warming the kitchen, my grandma showing us how to roll out the perfect tortilla, and my dad giving me the responsibility of being the “taste-tester” of the first fajita off the grill.
Halloween is coming up fast, and I am beyond excited. I love summer, but the last few months of the year bring me so much joy. The weather cools down, chunky sweaters come out, the festivities begin, etc. Since the season is officially beginning, I’m thinking about decorating for Halloween in the coming days, and here are some of my favorite finds to welcome in the holiday.
Summer can often mean we’re out in the sunshine enjoying the outdoors day after day, but taking care of your skin during that time can be tough. Sometimes the heat dries out my skin, or the sun exposure can cause damage. This summer, I’ve tried to be proactive about maintaining a routine that would combat those things and actively hydrate my skin.
Back in February, I wanted to find some ways to become a more tidy person. I’ve taken some of those practices and put them in to play. Here’s what’s worked the best for me so far and here’s where I hope to take these habits in the future!
