SUMMER SWIMSUIT HAUL (+ A LITTLE ADVICE)
Alright, friends, summer is here, and there comes a time when the temperature reaches a height that can only mean one thing: it’s time to pull out a swimsuit and enjoy some fun in the water!
While I am always excited to get to the pool, beach, or lake, I’ll admit that, historically, swimsuit shopping has been something I really dread. That being said, I’m bringing you a few different options of swimsuits that I actually really love and can’t wait to wear this summer, so you can get an idea of what you may want as well. And who knows? Maybe this will spark a little bit of excitement!
Bikini Round Up
OK we’re starting out with bikinis, but if this level of coverage just isn’t within your comfort zone, feel free to skip on ahead! However, I will tell you that I’ve pulled some pretty cute suits that even make me, a one-piece lover through and through, want to try a bikini this summer.
The bikinis here are just a few of many in the world on online (and in-person) shopping, but as you can see, there are so many options to choose from! If you don’t like a certain cut or want more/less coverage than you see here, there is definitely a bikini out there for you. Plus, you can mix and match bottoms and play around with the cut and coverage there as well.
Love A Good one-piece
I am definitely a one-piece girl, so I loved searching around for a few to share with you. I can’t get over how cute these are! I love that over the years the one-piece selection has expanded and now you can find more swimsuits that are sexy AND supportive. These ones from Target, PacSun, and Urban are especially fun because they play around with patterns, two-tone designs, and even classic solid-color styles. So you have a range to spark some inspiration for this season!
Sun Protection? Yes Pls
Whether it’s a bikini summer or a one-piece summer for me, I love having a rash guard to grab whenever I need it. It’s especially useful if I know I’m going to be on a boat all day with maybe minimal coverage from the sun. The sun protection is just so hard to beat, and look at how many cute options there are now! You can pair a rash guard with regular bottoms or opt for a swim skirt if you just want a little more coverage in a cute way. Either way, these are so practical if you’re going to be spending a lot of time in the sun. It just saves you a bit of sunscreen and worry on those long days out on the water!
Just remember…
It’s totally OK if you don’t find a suit you love. The ultimate goal is to escape the heat and enjoy time with friends and family, whether you want to lounge in the pool or shred it up at the beach. I have learned in recent years that body neutrality is as much a win as self-love, so maybe this summer, it’s just about finding a suit that you feel comfortable in, that hugs your body in supportive ways, and that allows you to enjoy yourself! Sometimes the best suit is the one we can forget we’re wearing. The days of tugging and adjusting and retying are over. Well-fitting, high-quality, secure suits are the name of the game now! And as someone who has always over-thought coverage or how I thought others might think I look in a suit, the older I get, truly, the less I care! Less caring about what others think, more loving my body where it’s at, and only wearing the things that serve me and make me feel the way I want! Cute, sexy, confident, and comfy! Now to start thinking about accessories….
