MY FAVORITE NASHVILLE SPOTS

How many years does it take for a city to be considered your home? Is it 1 year? 5 years? Does it start the moment you settle into a place you call your own? I think I feel more at home in Nashville now that I’ve gotten the chance to know my city more. I moved here just a few months before the pandemic, so it took a moment before I found my “go-tos” and absolute favorite spots. If you are new to the city or just stopping by, here are some of my favorite spots!

Food & Drink

Who doesn’t love a good breakfast, lunch or dinner date? These are a few of Cooper and I’s favorite spots, and we have really enjoyed finding these gems around town. We really love places that have a good vibe in addition to delicious food, and these places certainly check those boxes. I’ve broken these up by their most outstanding characteristic.

  • All around - Pinewood Social

  • Coffee - Honest Coffee Roasters, Crema, Sump

  • Favorite Tex-Mex Style Tacos - Redheaded Stranger

  • Best Fast Food Style Burger - Joyland

  • Favorite Cocktail Selection - Patterson House (Reservations are a must here.)

  • Best Date Nigh Spot - FOLK (Get the clam pizza. Trust me.)

  • Go-to Lunch Spot - Frothy Monkey (IMO, skip the coffee, and get the food… Any of it really because it’s all delicious.)

  • Best Place for New Cocktail Drinkers - Attaboy (no menu, just a conversation and they make you a custom drink)

  • Good ol’ Southern Cooking - Barbara’s Kitchen

  • Most Unique Bar Experience - The Greenhouse (A plant lovers dream. Have a cocktail in a greenhouse!)

  • Hottest Chicken - Hattie B’s

  • Favorite Dessert - Five Daughter’s Bakery (Known for their 100 layer donuts.)

Be a tourist

  • The Parthenon @ Centennial Park - Free history and beautiful scenery

  • I Believe in Nashville (12 South) - A street filled with shops, eats and the “I Believe in Nashville” sign

  • 5th and Broadway - If experiencing the infamous Broadway Street is not your thing (it’s not for me either), try this spot filled with shops and over 30 food options. You can still tell your friends you went to Broadway.

  • Grand Ole Opry - See a show on this historic stage and experience a piece of Nashville’s music history.

  • Fairlane - This is a beautiful place to stay, and you don’t just have to be a tourist to enjoy it. If you’re in the Nashville area, think about trying this place out for a little staycation.

Shopping

  • East Nashville Antiques and Vintage + Franklin Antique Mall - THE BEST spots to find unexpected treasures.

  • Flora - Definitely the most aesthetic plant store I’ve ever been in. Maybe stop into this place and then hit up Greenbar for a cocktail if you’re all about that plant life.

  • Hewitt Gardens - This place has the best plant selection, so definitely come here if you’re looking for something specific or if you want a wide variety to choose from.

Glam & Grooming

  • Local Honey - This is my go-to spot for a cut and color. The place is gorgeous and the stylists are really talented.

  • Safehouse Tattoo - A great spot for a first-time tattoo. Although, who am I kidding? You could come here for your 3rd, 4th, 5th and so on…

  • Anastacia Skin Studio - I love this place for all things facial. Skincare, brows, lashes, etc. They really take care of me.
