3 THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO IN FALL
The weather isn’t cooling down quite yet here in TN, but I am starting to dream about the day when a crisp breeze finally blows in and I get a hint of fall. Fall is one of my favorite seasons for a number of reasons, and there is something about the changing of the seasons that helps me align my body and mind for the end of the year. As fall approaches, I’ve been thinking about what I’m most excited for, so here’s a little taste of the things at the top of that list
Freshen Up My Fall Wardrobe
Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons to get creative with outfits and accessories. Whether it’s scarves, hats, tights, shoes or coats, I love layering and playing around with colors and patterns. This year, I’m especially excited to start experimenting with colorful and patterned tights. I think they can be such a cute accessory to an outfit, and they definitely keep you warm if you’re still looking to wear dresses and skirts through the colder months. Here are a few of the tights I’ve been eyeing, and when the weather cools down, I’ll be sharing some of the outfits that come together here and on my Instagram!
Pumpkin-Scented … Everything
Everyone knows that when fall comes around, pumpkin-flavored/scented foods, candles, home decor and more start to come out of the woodwork. Scent and sight are such powerful senses when it comes to fueling emotions, so I love getting into the spirit of the season by filling my house with pumpkin-scented candles and cute fall decor. There’s always a lot of argument around when it’s too early or too late to hang decor and enjoy the season’s festivities, but I think you should do what brings you joy. There are no rules, so I’m going to start filling my house with that pumpkin scent as soon as I feel ready, and you should too!
Changing leaves
Aside from that cool air blowing in to alert me of the coming season, the leaves changing color is another one of those things that just really makes me want to cozy up inside and enjoy the holidays. I’ve always been a fan of color, so seeing nature reflect a change in the atmosphere and world around me gives me that little boost I sometimes need going into the last few months of the year. In colder climates, I know it can feel like the last months of the year drag, but maybe you can take those changing leaves as a sign of a new season of life with more joy and fun to come! For those of you in warmer climates, those changing leaves can help you split up the year, even if the weather isn’t changing as drastically.
No matter what you’re looking forward to in fall, or if you’re more sad to say goodbye to summer, there is always joy to be found in any season, and I’m a firm believer in creating lemonade out of the lemons you have!
