A FEW TIPS TO SOAK UP THE LAST WEEKS OF SUMMER

I cannot believe that we are already nearing the end of the summer season. For some people, the end of summer marks the end of vacation, warmer weather, fun in the sun and more. While I am all about beach trips and soaking up the heat, I’m also massively excited for fall and can’t wait to welcome in a new season.

But before we say goodbye to summer and start swapping out our summer clothes for sweaters and pants, here are a few ways that you can make the most of the last few weeks of summer!

POOL DAY

It’s certainly not cooling down yet here in Nashville, so we still have time for a few really fun pool days! I LOVE lounging on really fun and cute pool floats, so I’m always on the lookout for new ones each summer. Plus, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about taking my favorite swimsuits for a spin and not letting my insecurity keep me from finding joy this summer. Just remember to always lather up with sunscreen! And if you don’t have a pool nearby, you can always cool down with one of these cute tiny pools!

Mini road trip

Go out with a bang this summer and take a last minute mini road trip! It doesn’t have to be a far or long trip. Make it simple and easy! You can enjoy one last summer 2021 vacation with some road trip snacks, a duffel bag and your favorite people over a weekend. ROLL INTO A NEW SEASON

Take up a new summer hobby like skating. I don’t know about you, but I love picking up new hobbies. Even if I’m only invested in them for a few weeks, I really enjoy trying new things and bouncing around from hobby to hobby. I get to figure out what I like, and it allows me to make some fun memories. Roller skating is a super fun, less conventional mode of transportation, and it can be a great way to get those endorphins pumping as well. Whether you’re roller skating along the beach or practicing in your driveway, try it!

SMOOTHIES

Smoothies are a treat you can enjoy all year round, but something about the heat in summer makes me want to start the day off with a nice cool smoothie. I was looking through a friend’s copy of Plant Over Processed and tried the green morning smoothie. It was so good! Try out some new recipes yourself and enjoy a smoothie while soaking up the summer sun. If you are in need of a new blender, check out this super cute pink NutriBullet!

Green Morning Smoothie:

  • 1 Frozen Banana

  • 1/2 cup of Spinach

  • 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks

  • 8 oz oat milk

  • Scoop of Vanilla Protein (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp of Spirulina (optional)

  • Scoop of collagen (optional)

The Great Outdoors

Take a little camping trip (even to your own backyard). While the days can be pretty hot here, the nights often cool down and it can be really pleasant to lay under the stars or out in front of a campfire. Something about camping always makes me a little nostalgic, and I don’t hate having s’mores either!

Cute summer outfits

Embrace all the cute summer outfits while you can! Here are some of my favorite picks (some are even on sale as we get ready to head into a new season). I feel like dresses are great pieces to have in your wardrobe because they can transition well from spring into summer and from summer into fall. Either way, the warm weather isn’t going to last forever, so make sure to take all of your favorite outfits out of your closet and out on the town.
