HALLOWEEN-THEMED NIGHT OF FUN
Whether you’re planning a slumber party or looking to spice up date night with your boo, who doesn’t love a Halloween-themed night of fun? I love to really immerse myself in the spirit of the holiday, so I try to do a Halloween night at least once each October, complete with fun desserts, drinks, movies and more. Cute, scary, fun or gorey, you can make your night just how you like it, so here are a few suggestions to kick off your brainstorming!
Spooky Pajamas
No movie night/slumber party is complete without the most fun pajamas you can find, and I have been seeing SO MANY cute Halloween pjs this year! If you’re in a place that gets a little colder, you may opt for long sleeve, full length pajamas. However, here in Nashville, it’s definitely still shorts weather some days. I’ve pulled some of my favorite options from this season, but don’t be afraid to mix and match. You may even choose a matching set with your best friends or your partner. There are no rules when it comes to pajamas, except that they have to be super comfy!
Creepy Cocktails (and Mocktails!)
I love a good special occasion cocktail, and this time of year there are too many fun cocktail and mocktail recipes out there that I can’t wait to try! You can make fancy drinks whenever you want, and they can bring a fun evening even more excitement. Here’s an extensive list of Halloween-themed cocktails that are too cute and too fun to pass up. (I’ve been eyeing The Black Widow. It sounds absolutely delicious). For those that are looking for some non-alcoholic beverages, these mocktail recipes are just what you need (doesn’t that Passionfruit Potion Tea look so refreshing?). So try your hand at brewing your own concoction!
Desserts that are to die for
Baking is such a fun activity with a great reward at the end of your hard work -- delicious sweets! You can bake alone or make it a group activity, so you can make it as soothing or as hectic as you want. I sometimes feel intimidated by large baking projects since I’m not an experienced baker, so I was super excited when I found this list of easy Halloween treats. Whether you’re just decorating or actually sculpting your spooky creation into existence, you’re sure to have a fun time while making incredible snacks for the last component of this Halloween-themed night of fun… Movies!
Frightening Films (or Just Fall Favorites)
Once you’ve secured your spooky pajamas, concocted your creepy cocktails and baked some delicious Halloween treats, it’s time to wind down and relax. The best way to do that is a Halloween movie marathon! I like a combination of thriller films and whimsical but still spooky movies. Some on my list this year are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline, Edward Scissorhands and Shutter Island . Your marathon could have a theme, follow a specific order or simply be a collection of movies you enjoy. If you’re looking for some fun ideas, this list of Halloween movies touches on classics and some newer films, so check it out to begin compiling your movie marathon list.
However you choose to enjoy your Halloween-themed night of fun, spend time with the people you love, cuddle up with some cozy blankets and take advantage of all the fun spooky season has to offer!
