SUMMER 2023
Summer 2023 is sneakily coming to an end. As much as I wish it could be summer forever, I’m looking forward to crisp fall weather and decorating for Halloween. That being said, I thought I’d reflect on what summer 2023 was all about for me, a few things I’m currently dreaming about, and some style inspo.
Style
In terms of items I’m wearing on repeat, I can’t get enough of these: maxi skirts, tube tops, chunky shoes, and necklaces. It took me a minute to get into my maxi skirt era, but now that I’m here, I can’t believe I waited this long. They’re flowy, fun, and always so comfortable! Tube tops are bringing the same energy this summer — always a great staple to pair with my favorite shorts, skirt, jeans, etc. Chunky shoes are also a favorite right now because they always pull my outfits together. Well, and my accessories!
Color of the summer
It’s been all about green for me this summer! Truly chartreuse if we are getting specific, but all shades of green have found their way into my wardrobe. My obsession has also left me wondering how I can incorporate more green into my home. Maybe in my kitchen? We’ll see how it plays out. Here are some of my favorite green picks for the summer (maxi skirt included, of course).
Summer Activities
This summer has been all about thrifting. I love the thrill of finding hidden treasures. A cute skirt, an antique ceramic cat, cute glassware. Trying new hikes has been a big part of this summer, too. A highlight had to be the Vernal Falls hike I did in Yosemite where we came across a rainbow at the end of the falls. Another highlight was walking down the Phoencian Steps from Anacapri back down to the port. We came across an old tiny church hidden in the hilltops and had the most gorgeous views along the way!
Travel Dreams
I’ve been on the side of TikTok romanticizing summers in Maine (a place that was already on my list), and now I would love to find time to go for a weekend soon! I got to live my Italian summer dreams in June on a trip throughout Italy with my in-laws. And last month, I spent a week driving throughout California with friends! But I would love a summer weekend trip with just Cooper and I and I think a summer in Maine could be so fun. Wandering through bookstores, eating all the seafood, being by the water, picturesque lighthouses, and maybe brining back some of the “coastal grandmother” vibes for my outfits.
