5 THINGS TO DO ON A NASHVILLE DAY

I’ve lived in a few different states and cities over the years, but I have seriously come to love Nashville and the subtle charm of this city. There are of course a ton of things to do here, but since warm weather is all that’s on my mind lately, I keep thinking about what a close-to-perfect Nashville day might be like. With all that in mind, I’ve curated a Nashville, TN day for you, complete with some staples and some newer favorites that have recently cropped up on the scene.

Breakfast/Brunch

We’ve got two options to start out your day, but I think it has got to be either Hearts or Two Hands. Both are immensely delicious, but I’m also a big believer in paying attention to the aesthetic and energy of a space. These two have certainly nailed theirs, and while their menus are really impressive and generally amazing, I love these places because they are beautiful and charming.

LUnch

Now once you’re ready to eat again, I want you to make your way to The Wash. Formally a car wash that now houses a collection of food stalls, this place is no joke if you’re looking for good food and a good time. I couldn’t believe the options, and all the food is so yummy. Snag a Cafecito and a Cuban Sandwich from Soy Cubano or the Beef Chaufa from 2 Peruvian Chefs. You can even stop by for a cocktail with friends at Bay 6. You really can’t go wrong with any of the spots here!

Around town

Maybe you need to make room for more food by walking around or exploring. If that’s the case, here are my recommendations. A Shop of Things is the perfect place to find cute and quirky home decor or the perfect souvenir to bring back to a loved one. If records and video games are more your vibe, stop into McKay’s to check out their used record and video game collection. You’ll definitely find something to take home. (In fact, it may be hard to leave with only one or two things and not the whole store. Fair warning.) If you’re a Nashville local or are looking to give a gift to someone in the area, Gardens of Babylon is unbeatable in terms of plants. I really love their selection, and I always leave feeling so light and happy. Lastly, if you’re not wanting to shop, the Frist Art Museum is a fun exploration as an individual or with others!

Dinner

It’s so hard to choose just one or two spots because there are SO MANY good ones in Nashville, but I’m going to have to say Xiao Bao or Pinewood for dinner. Xiao Bao is an amazing asian fusion spot, and Pinewood has a little bit of everything (including a bowling alley in the back). Both are fantastic, so you may have to just flip a coin if you can’t decide! My must haves? From Xiao Bao don’t miss the Okonomiyaki (I like to add egg). And if you’re going to Pinewood you don’t want to miss the Fried Broccoli.

After-dinner Drinks

Looking for a night cap? Head on over to Pearl Diver for a few drinks. I don’t often drink, but Nashville has an amazing cocktail scene! I love catching up with friends over a delicious beverage. It’s hard to just mention one, but currently I really enjoy Pearl Diver. The ambience is pleasant, and their cocktails are pretty impressive. They even have some appetizers available that are super yum (go for the fries). My current favorite cocktail from there is the Banana! Banana! which is presented with a flame. No, literally it’s on fire. SO tasty.
