NASHVILLE SUMMER TO-DO LIST!

Even though I don’t take off the whole summer like I did as a kid, I still love to fill my summer with fun activities and new experiences. You already know I’m going to be spending as much time as I can playing pickleball, but I added some other items to my summer to-do list.

Centennial Park - The perfect spot to take a blanket, sit and people/dog watch on a nice day. There’s a nice mile loop around the lake you can walk, and if it gets too warm, you can always check out The Parthenon museum if you haven't before. (Admission is $10 for adults.)

Frist Art Museum - Stay cool indoors and check out some art exhibitions. I haven’t visited yet, so this is a must for me!

Record Shopping - McKAY’s is such a massive place with so many hidden treasures. It’s a perfect place to dig through the dollar bin full of records and see what you can find. They also carry so many used books, video games and electronics.

Lake Day - Here in Nashville, we don’t have easy access to a beach, but the lake will do on a hot day! If you head out, make sure to lather up with sunscreen and follow all the water safety protocol. Let’s make this a fun and safe summer on the water!

Hiking - I’ve been trying to get out into nature more in the past year, and I cannot wait to hike more this summer. It’s a great mindful reset, and there are many trails in Nashville I’m excited to try out.

Plant Shopping - Gardens of Babylon and Flora Nashville are a must this summer.

Pottery Class - Summer is a great time to learn a new skill, so try taking a class! I’ve been eyeing a pottery class for myself.

Rollerskating - There’s a few places around to skate (indoor/outdoor) but I’m excited to give rollerskating a try again. Once I get a little more comfortable, maybe I’ll make it a regular thing around my neighborhood.

Get a New Ear Piercing - I love the environment of Studs in Nashville. They make getting an ear piercing easy, and I’m already planning my next one!

Cat Cafe - The Catio is a must this summer for me. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to add a new fluffy edition to the fam soon (lots of family with allergies), but that doesn’t mean I can’t get some cute time with cats.

Good Eats & Drinks

Tiki Bar Vibes - Chopper and Pearl Diver are my top spots for a drink this summer.

Summer Coffee Drinks - I love when my favorite coffee shops come out with new specialty drinks for summer! Some spots on my list to check out: Matryoshka Coffee, Weak Coffee and Barista Parlor. (I hope they bring back the Shoeless Joe, a fave of mine.)

Arrington Vineyards - Even if you aren’t looking for a drink, the vineyards offer a great place to hang out, picnic and listen to some live music! Entry is free, and you can check out their event calendar to see what they have going on each week.

Nashville Breweries - I love getting a flight so I can taste test different beers. Monday Night Brewing and Jackalope Brewing Company are both on my list to check out.
