A NEW YEAR: 21 GOALS FOR 2021

At the end of 2019, I had a quiet moment to myself to write out all my goals and dreams for 2020, like I had done for many years before. Things like “read more”,”work out”, “travel to Japan”, were all things that found their way on the list. As we come to the end of another year, it’s about that time where I like to take that quiet moment to dream and write out all the things I would love to see happen. After the curveball that was 2020, it can be slightly discouraging to put together another list of big dreams that might not be possible (like a trip to Japan). But I’m realizing how important it is for me to continue to not only be hopeful, but to also not be discouraged from writing out my goals because so many of them could be accomplished! I really do think there is something to writing things out. I’ve come across old lists from New Year’s prior and it’s cool to see how many of those things actually came to be (like traveling to Australia, getting my dream car, and riding in a hot air ballon). Although I never did get to go on a date with Zac Efron (sorry 2009 Megan). I’m not saying there’s magic when you write things out, but there is something to physically writing out those goals and keeping them at the front of your mind each day.

I didn’t travel the world or release as much music as I hoped in 2020. In fact, I really let parts of this year keep my momentum and productivity from being its best. I didn’t feel like I had a ton of personal growth, but overall I’m feeling optimistic. I worked out the most I ever have, but also didn’t fuel myself in the healthiest ways. Even though parts of me wishes I could just skip this last year and start over, a lot of good came out of 2020. I started a new YouTube channel with my husband and have had the best time streaming on Twitch with him. I became a plant mom and my plants are happy and healthy!??? I mastered the perfect matcha latte. I got my first tattoo! I got to witness my sister be married! And I started to blog more regularly. I hope you are able to find the little wins in this last year like I did as you reflect and look forward to the possibilities that come with a new year.
